Operational at Panzi Hospital, Bukavu — founded by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dr. Denis Mukwege
A whole generation, missing from the record.
In eastern Congo, millions of children grow up without a birth certificate — no proof of name, no nationality, no claim to school, healthcare, or legal protection. We've issued 12,912 digital certificates across 14 hospitals in active conflict zones, the only registration system still working.

Built in Bergen. Deployed in Goma.
Founded in 2017 by Bruno Kitoko, Werner Svellingen and Bjarte Karlsen, eGov Africa builds digital governance systems for the Democratic Republic of Congo. We started with tax — and now run civil registry, GBV documentation, and antenatal care from the same offline-first platform, in 14 hospitals across Nord-Kivu and Sud-Kivu. We operate through crisis: when other organisations pulled out during the M23 conflict, our systems kept running. All Norway-based work is voluntary. 100% of donated funds go directly to programming and field operations.
